Skin Selfportrait
“Where do you think you’re running? You’re surrounded by your skin, sacred skin, glabrous skin, the only skin you have...”.
From this quote of the song “Our skin”, of the Ex-Otago(Italian group), I had the idea to develop a project that told my physical presence in a different way than the classic self-portrait, I decided to investigate my figure on a more macroscopic aspect, that of my skin. Our skin is the wrapping of our physical presence by its imperfect and unique nature. Our body is all that we possess, so we should recognize its importance and try to investigate its facets more deeply. For this reason, I chose to make a self-portrait photographing not my entire image but fragments of my skin that with its characteristics and imperfections make up the texture of my body.
